Direct Primary Care or DPC eliminates all the usual pain and worry associated with going to see a doctor in today's world. Gone will be long wait times to get an appointment, inability to speak to your doctor when you need to, insurance hassles, co-pays and deductibles, short times spent with the doctor, missing work to go see the doctor, and overall dissatisfaction with your health care process. While we can't fix everything else, we promise to bring back the feel-good experiences associated with a doctor's visit.
The terms DPC and Concierge Medicine are often used interchangeably and essentially refer to the same principles. Direct Primary Care is a healthcare model focused on putting the patient first. That means treating them when they need it, never rushing through appointments, and being proactive with healthcare treatment plans. The doctor-patient relationship is just as the name suggests – direct.
We are San Antonio’s first pediatric Direct Care practice. We offer a unique style of pediatric healthcare that is immediate, thorough, comprehensive, specific, easily affordable, and very, very personal.
Yes and No. Children admitted to the hospital are often attended to by inpatient hospitalists who are experts in hospital-based care. However, Dr. Lulu will work closely with the inpatient team to optimize the care your child receives while hospitalized.
Yes, we currently have openings in our practice. However, space is limited in order to provide personalized care to each patient. We shall only accept 200-300 patients in total. Once the practice reaches capacity, families may have to be placed on a wait-list and notified when a spot becomes available.
Because the practice is small in size, Dr. Lulu personally knows your child and their medical history very well. If needed, every attempt will be made to provide long-distance care, such as virtual visits and calling in prescriptions.
We will do our best to notify families in advance of any planned absences. Dr. Lulu may still be available via email, phone and text during her absence. In the event that she is not able during her absence, she will arrange for a covering physician for virtual visits only.
If your child's needs are urgent or emergent, then they will have to be taken to an Urgent Care Center or Emergency Room.
Dr. Lulu personally meets with all prospective families prior to signing up. This complimentary consultation (which can be done on the phone) provides an opportunity for both parties to determine if they will be a good fit for one another.
If you are not completely satisfied with our care you may cancel at any time with no penalty. All we require is a 30 day written notice. However, if you choose to return to the practice, then a one time re-enrollment fee will be assessed equivalent to the current monthly membership fee rate.
Yes. You need only sign a one-time waiver declaring that neither you nor Dr. Lulu will directly bill Medicaid for our services. Medicaid will still cover any laboratory testing, imaging, medications, or hospitalizations and referrals prescribed by our office.
Unfortunately, no. Your retainer is not yet defined as a “medical expense” in most states and as such is not deductible. Please confer with your tax consultant to clarify tax consequences in your particular circumstances.
We maintain scrupulous standards of privacy. We are never obligated to provide any third party with a copy of your records unless you specifically ask that we do so.
